Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man in Imperial Beach Saturday morning.
The victim was discovered at about 1:25 a.m. Saturday when deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a disturbance in the 600 block of Seventh Street, according to Lt. Juan Marquez.
The deputies found an unidentified man suffering from traumatic injuries, Marquez said. They immediately began CPR until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name was not released pending notification of family members.
“Sheriff’s homicide detectives are conducting an investigation, interviewing witnesses, and gathering more evidence. At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation,” Marquez said. “Based on information gathered so far, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community.”
