A 67-year-old man was fatally stabbed late Friday night inside an IHOP restaurant in Brooklyn, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News.

The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. on Flatlands Avenue in the Starrett City section, the report said.

According to the outlet, the victim, who worked as a cleaner at the restaurant, was attacked in the bathroom by a man who followed him inside and stabbed him in the torso.

A 41-year-old employee also suffered a slash wound to the hand but is expected to recover, Eyewitness News said.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, the report noted.
