SAN ANTONIO – A drug investigation in Southtown led to a major marijuana seizure and an arrest earlier this week, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 2, deputies executed a search warrant at a home in the 900 block of South Alamo Street. Investigators say they seized nearly 74 pounds of marijuana, valued at approximately $184,750, along with more than $8,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Before serving the warrant, deputies observed a man later identified as Juan Gonzales leaving the home carrying a large trash bag. When approached, Gonzales allegedly dropped the bag, which deputies say contained marijuana.

Deputies then entered the home, where they found multiple boxes of packaged marijuana and $8,450 in cash.

Gonzales was arrested and booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana (4 ounces to 5 pounds).
