The Dallas Cowboys came up short in their Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a hard-fought game, but there are no moral victories in the NFL.
CeeDee Lamb had a good game, but the Cowboys’ star wideout was unable to make a couple of crucial plays throughout it. Those missed plays very well might have cost Dallas the game.
No one can single out one player for a loss. There were a lot of moments the Cowboys wish they could have back. However, the Lamb missed plays have garnered a lot of national media attention.

With that being said, NFL legend Randy Moss took some time to speak out about Lamb specifically.

During ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” Moss issued some strong words at Lamb. He wants to see the Dallas star play better moving forward.
“CeeDee Lamb, I need better effort out of him going forward,” Moss said. “You’re the third highest paid receiver in all of football and then when it’s crunch time you don’t show up for your team. Yeah I get that, we do miss some passes sometimes as wide receiver. But you’re on the road in a divisional game against the defending champs.”
To hear those words come from one of the best wide receivers of all-time is rough. Lamb is being held to a high standard, but he should be due to the contract he is currently playing on.
Against the Eagles, Lamb ended up catching seven passes for 110 yards. They weren’t bad numbers, but they should have been much bigger.
Perhaps the strong words from Moss will provide extra motivation for Lamb. At the very least, it might anger him and get him to play even harder to prove his doubters wrong.

Next week, Lamb will have a chance to do just that. The Cowboys will be facing off against the New York Giants in their home opener.
Hopefully, Lamb can heed Moss’ call. He shouldn’t hang his head after his Week 1 performance, but there were certainly things to improve on. If he can make those improvements and take his game to the next level, Dallas will be in a much better position.
