A 31-year-old woman is dead after she collided with a truck while riding her bike in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.

Local police say the collision happened on Parc Avenue just north of Bernard Street West. They were called to the scene around 9:20 a.m. Sunday.

The woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but later succumbed to her injuries, said police spokesperson Julien Lévesque Sunday afternoon.

He says the driver, a 49-year-old man, will meet with investigators from the collision unit as they try to illuminate the circumstances around the fatal accident.

Police set up a perimeter on Parc Avenue between Van Horne Avenue and Bernard Street, but it has since been lifted, and the road reopened to traffic.
