FORT WORTH, Texas — The Journey Fort Worth Church of Elders has released a statement addressing allegations of sexual assault made against its pulpit minister by a former member.

According to the statement, Pastor Diego Fuller has denied the accusations, maintaining they are without merit.

“Pastor Diego fully supports and welcomes a thorough investigation by the criminal justice system and looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name,” the statement reads. “He remains committed to transparency and truth as the legal process moves forward.”

The board goes onto state that Fuller will continue leading the congregation and fulfilling his responsibilities as pulpit minister throughout the process.

Fuller issued the following statement on his Facebook page:

“Thank you for the prayers, calls, emails, and love so many have shown during this time,” Fuller wrote. “My wife and I truly appreciate it. We kindly ask for continued prayer and for privacy as our family walks through this together.”

Fort Worth police confirmed Fuller, 39, was arrested Sunday on a charge of sexual assault.

Fuller is the latest in a long list of North Texas pastors who have been accused of misconduct over the past two years. Since the start of 2024, more than two dozen pastors have been implicated, with two even facing criminal charges. To see a full list, click here.
