More than 4 million people went through Sky Harbor International Airport in July.

That’s about 1.6% fewer passengers than the same time last year.

Eric Everts is an airport spokesperson. He says last year, that number was a little over 4.2 million.

“We’re still very close to that, and from month to month, these numbers fluctuate so it could change within the next couple months and go back above that number,” he said.

Everts says the cooler months and seasonal sports events tend to be when Sky Harbor receives more travelers.
