FORT WORTH, Texas (KTVT) – A Texas family wants answers after their 8-year-old son was injured in a hit-and-run while riding his bike.
Liam Park, 8, was playing with friends just before 8 p.m. Friday outside the Mercantile Square Apartments in Fort Worth. While riding his bike, the boy was hit by a driver in a black SUV, police say.
“My friend tried to tell me that a car was coming, but I didn’t know because I didn’t hear him. I turned my head, and it just kind of hit me,” Liam said. “I felt like I was going to pass out because my eye vision started to – I started to not be able to see good.”

Liam’s mother, Baylea Christiansen, says a few of his friends ran to their apartment to tell her what happened to her son.
“I didn’t ask any questions. I just ran,” Christiansen said. “He [Liam] was covered in blood from his face to his arm. He has bruising on his bottom half.”
Liam suffered severe road rash across his face and on his arms. He was taken to the hospital and has since been released. His mother says he has no life-threatening injuries but is in pain “mentally and physically.”
“They told me I don’t have any broken bones. I just have skin injuries. It’s hard to sleep, and it hurts,” Liam said.
Since Friday, Liam’s parents have been knocking on doors, asking neighbors if they have any information that can help identify the driver. Witnesses told them the man got out of the SUV and looked at the injured 8-year-old before speeding off.
Christiansen has this message for the driver: “I hope that you’re found, and I hope that you’re going to pay for that because for all you know, my son could be dead right now.”
Fort Worth Police say the Traffic Investigation Unit has been notified and will take over the investigation.
