Both teams are coming off Week 1 win, as the Raiders defeated the Patriots, 20-13, and the Chargers knocked off the Chiefs, 27-21, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Monday night will be a big test for the Silver and Black defense seeing as Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert went 25-of-34 for 318 yards and three touchdowns against Kansas City. The quarterback battle is equally matched on the Raiders’ side considering Geno Smith completed 24-of-34 passes for 362 yards and one touchdown while targeting eight different receivers.
“Somebody said this was a breakout game for him, it wasn’t at all,” Pete Carroll said Monday. “That’s how Geno plays – 70.0 percent, 300-something, whatever. That’s how he plays, and he’ll have bigger games going forward.”
