Major crime unit investigating suspicious death in Saanich

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) is investigating a suspicious death of a man in the Royal Oak area of Saanich Sept. 9.

Around 5 a.m., Saanich Police officers responded to a well-being check and located a deceased adult man. Due to the suspicious nature of the death, the VIIMCU is now
investigating.

A second adult man has been taken into custody in relation to the death.

While the investigation is in its early stages, detectives have determined that there is no
ongoing risk to the public.
