Trump said he never wrote it. Then, this week, Epstein’s estate released the “birthday book” with messages from friends ― including Trump ― but most Republicans are either calling it a fake or simply ignoring it.
Colbert rolled a clip of House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) earlier in the day.
“I haven’t seen it,” said Jordan. “Don’t buy it.”
Colbert fired back with a biting reminder from Jordan’s past.
“If Jim Jordan didn’t see it, it didn’t happen ― especially not in the showers at Ohio State,” he said, then encouraged his audience: “Google it.”
Jordan has denied those accusations, which have been corroborated by several witnesses.
“I considered Jim Jordan a friend,” former wrestler Mike DiSabato said in 2018. “But at the end of the day, he is absolutely lying if he says he doesn’t know what was going on.”
