PHOENIX (AZFamily) — While the normal high temperature for today is 102, but the temps will reach closer to 107 in the greater metro Phoenix area.
Breezes are forecast at 10-15 mph from the southwest with gusts of around 25 mph, though this evening. Winds also return on Thursday with gusts of 25 mph in the afternoon and evening, but those breezes won’t be quite as warm. High temps are expected to be in the low 100s on Thursday.
The dip in the jet stream responsible for the mid-week breezes will pull in some cooler air by Friday morning, with lows in the upper 70s for the early commute to work. Friday afternoon temperatures will reach about 100.
Saturday is the pick of the week with morning lows in the mid-70s and highs in the upper 90s! Sunday morning will also be comfortable with lows in the mid-70s and highs near 100 by the afternoon. Temperatures may start to warm closer to normal by the start of next week.
For the high country, a wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for the northern mountains with winds from the southwest at 15 to 25 mph and gusts of 45mph. Showers and thunderstorms will be mostly confined to eastern Arizona today and tomorrow, with much of central and western Arizona staying dry.
