The 31-year-old CEO and co-founder of TPUSA was shot and killed while at an event on a Utah college campus.

PHOENIX — Many people have gathered at the Phoenix offices of Turning Point USA following the death of the organization’s CEO and co-founder, Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed at an event on a Utah college campus on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Since President Donald Trump released the news of Kirk’s death, a nonstop flow of people have come to the offices to pay their respects, dropping off flowers and hats with handwritten messages on them, as well as praying together.

Several individuals shared personal stories with 12News about a rally or event they attended where Kirk spoke, many of them saying that from the moment they heard him speak, they were drawn to him and his movement.

“He’s a wonderful speaker, and he is just a good Christian man and a warrior for Christ, and he just wanted good in this country, and that’s what he was working towards,” Mary Virden of Maricopa told 12News.

Several Phoenix police officers have been seen coming and going from the offices, keeping an eye on the buildings. The parking lots for TPUSA are blocked off; however, staff at the offices have allowed some of Kirk’s supporters to walk up to the door to grieve.

“For me, it’s important to pay respects to a guy who’s given so much to our country. I mean, in a time when there’s so much division in our country, he did a lot to reach out to people who weren’t necessarily, didn’t have a moral compass, and helped him develop one,” Greg Virden of Maricopa told 12News.

“There’s a lot of force on the left side of politics in our campuses these days, you seem to be the one lone voice speaking out for the right side, the conservative side. And I think he deserves a lot of credit for that.”
