Focused crime prevention campaigns have helped reduce crime in specific areas of Phoenix, but city leaders are saying there is still more to do.

“We’re on the right path, but clearly we’re not done,” said City Councilmember Betty Guardado during last week’s Public Safety and Justice Subcommittee meeting.

Guardado said the city will need more resources to address crime in the focus area and beyond. The subcommittee was united in recommending Phoenix Police’s two Real Time Operation Centers expand to 24/7 operations and that more be added throughout the city.
