1. Conservative activist Charlie Kirk dies after being shot at Utah college event
Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and close ally of President Donald Trump, died Wednesday after being shot at a college event, Trump said.
2. Suspect in custody after shooting Austin police officer and woman near Zilker Park
Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting near Zilker Park early Wednesday morning that has left one officer and another person injured.
President Donald Trump is leaning more and more on the U.S. military in his crackdown on undocumented immigrants — from deploying the National Guard to American cities to temporarily assigning military lawyers as immigration judges to chip away at the court backlog of more than 3.4 million cases nationwide. There is a backlog of more than 416,000 immigration cases in Texas alone. But legal experts are wary of giving military lawyers these new duties.

Survey reveals homelessness as top 2 issue affecting San Antonio residents
According to a recent survey by the Cicero Institute, over 70% of respondents believe major cities need to do more to help people living on the street.
In San Antonio, Chief Housing Officer Mark Carmona says residents have ranked homelessness as a top two issue in each of the past three annual budget surveys.
