If any city should have taken up the mantle to remember the horrors of Sept. 11, 2001, it was New York City – Ground Zero of 9/11. America’s once-flagship city has failed us grievously.
The NYC mayoral race is currently between Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim socialist, and three men who may split the vote and hand him the title. Between Eric Adams, Curtis Sliwa and Andrew Cuomo, two need to take one for the team and drop out to run the candidate who has the best shot at defeating Mamdani.
Born in Uganda, Mamdani’s family moved to the United States when he was just seven years old, settling in New York City. He likes for people to think he’s always been part of the poor, working class, but Mamdani graduated from Bronx High School of Science, gaining a bachelor’s degree in Africana studies at Bowdoin College. He was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2020, 2022 and 2024.
In the fall of 2024, Mamdani announced his intention to run for New York City mayor. A member of the Democratic Socialists of America, Mamdani wants to provide fare-free city buses, free public childcare, government-owned grocery stores and public safety reform – in other words, defund the police.
Mamdani also describes himself as a proud Muslim. As we approach another anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, one might surmise that New Yorkers would consider electing a Muslim as mayor of NYC to be a poor decision – yet here we are. It appears time not only heals all wounds but also erases common sense.
My question to New Yorkers is this: Has anyone in your city glanced across the pond to see what is happening in Great Britain? In an article on Seleisi, the writer states that it is no longer “whether mass Islamic immigration has changed Britain,” but “whether anything remains capable of restoring what was lost.” The United Kingdom is under attack, succumbing to invasion as if they are blind. Mosques have expanded and churches have closed. Migrant gangs are sexually assaulting women, and the women who report the attacks are told to shut up by law enforcement. The current Muslim population in the U.K. is around 4 million, a roughly 150% increase in only 20 years. British women are not having children to replace the British population decrease. Since 1967, the U.K. has aborted more than 10 million of its unborn.
Radical Islam is conquering while the Christian church sleeps. This isn’t just happening in Europe. Look at Michigan, California, Minnesota, Illinois and even Texas. New York has the largest Muslim population at more than 700,000.
For those who think I’m ethnically or religiously narrow-minded, I am speaking from a political standpoint. As a Christian, I am called by Christ to love my neighbor. Who is my neighbor? Every person created in God’s image. But biblical love and truth hold hands. There is a significant difference between the role of the Church and the government’s obligation to defend the Constitution.
From a political standpoint, Islamic and Judeo-Christian laws and values are wholly at odds. Biblical Christianity has been the cornerstone of societal virtue and cohesion, while Islamic Sharia courts operate in opposition to women’s rights and justice. Christianity defines marriage as a sacred covenant before God between a man and a woman, while polygamous marriages are often celebrated in Islam. True Christianity protects children at all costs. Between 1997 and 2013, more than 1,400 young girls in Rotherham alone were sexually groomed by gangs of men who identified as Pakistani Muslim men. Extrapolate that out and national figures become hundreds of thousands.
Astonishingly, we have an example of a once great nation directly across the Atlantic Ocean that is being systemically dismantled by men who subscribe to the same religion as our 9/11 attackers.
We commemorate the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks this week. In honor of those who lost their lives that day, the United States government should immediately do a few things.
First, rapidly deport any Muslim men who are here illegally. Many of these men are trying to change our culture, seeking to ban alcohol and pork. This is particularly prevalent in Houston, Texas, where more than 200 mosques and Islamic prayer centers are now located.
Ban Islamic Sharia Law across the United States. Think all women wearing hajibs, not allowed to vote. Theft punishable by amputation of a limb. Grown men allowed to marry eight-year-old girls. A woman who has been sexually assaulted cannot testify in court against her rapist. Sharia Law is the most intrusive and restrictive legal system in the world. It is in direct conflict with the supreme law of our land – the United States Constitution.
Ban any law enforcement badge that features Arabic. Our national language is English. We don’t force foreigners to learn it, but Americans and American law enforcement officials need only use English and symbols that represent America. We certainly should not sport law enforcement badges like the ones recently spotted in Dearborn, Mich.
Great Britain has fallen. New York is toying with electing a mayor whose very political and religious ideologies are the antithesis of our Constitution. America’s only viable option is to stand firm on the principles that formed this nation long ago, rejecting all ideologies that destroy them.
