As production continues in the UK, a brand new Clayface set photo has surfaced online, featuring an intriguing poster. Led by Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries, DC Studios‘ upcoming body horror movie will hit the theaters on September 11, 2026.

What does the new Clayface set photo show?

Shared on X, the behind-the-scenes photo shows a poster for The Flying Graysons, teasing the potential introduction of Dick Grayson into the DC Universe. He’s known as the first DC character to take on the mantle of Robin. He’s the latest Batman character that was teased on the set of the live-action Clayface movie, following the Joker and Penguin. At the moment, it’s still unclear if these Easter eggs have a significant meaning to the movie’s story.

In the comics, before getting adopted by Bruce Wayne, Dick was part of the Flying Graysons, a family of trapeze artists performing in a circus. As he grew older, Dick Grayson decided to forge his own path by assuming a different superhero identity in the form of Nightwing. The character was previously played by Burt Ward in the classic 1960s Batman series, and by Brenton Thwaites in the Titans series.

The Clayface movie is being directed by James Watkins, who is known for his work on Speak No Evil. The screenplay was written by Mike Flanagan. Based on the character created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane for DC Comics, the titular DC character is best known as a fan-favorite Batman villain who has shapeshifting abilities. Described as a body horror thriller, the adaptation will reportedly feature “a Hollywood horror tale centering on a B-movie actor who injects himself with a substance to keep himself relevant.”

According to DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, he and Matt Reeves were blown away by Harries’s audition. Before landing his high-profile project as the lead, the Welsh actor had supporting roles in movies like 2019’s The Gentlemen and 2023’s Kandahar. He also appeared in British shows such as Suspicion, The Split, and Doctor Who.
