SAN ANTONIO – A robbery turned cutting has left one woman hospitalized, and one man recovering behind bars.

Around 8:40 p.m. on Friday, police responded to calls for a robbery in progress on South Zarzamora between Ceralvo Street and Brady Blvd. on the west side.

While officers were in route, the incident was upgraded to a Cutting in Progress, according to officers on scene.

Police arrived and found the 39-year-old woman with a laceration to her abdomen. She was transported to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

A 38-year old man was also present at the scene, who had sustained a cut to his face. He was treated on the scene for his injuries.

Investigators ultimately determined him to be the suspect in the cutting attack, and arrived at the apartment was supposed to be inside. He surrendered to police without incident.

The incident remains under investigation.
