Preview: This is the battle of top-flight quarterbacks. … Zac Benitez, who has completed 75 of 102 passes for 865 yards and nine touchdowns, leads Granite Hills. Davion Williams has rushed 42 times for 250 yards and a score. Benitez has four receivers with more than 143 yards, led by Noah Walker with 12 catches for 238 yards and Tristan Diaz, who has 23 receptions for 201 yards. The Eagles are 36-6 over the last three seasons, winning the Division 2 title in 2022, the Open Division title in 2023 and Division 1 crown last season. … Penn State-bound QB Troy Huhn leads Mission Hills. He has big targets in Josh Gonzalez, Perrin Blankenship and Xavier St. John, who is also a defensive back. Andrew Romer and Demariye Stephens are two top deep defenders for the Grizzlies. Mission Hills is 34-14 over the last four seasons. … Granite Hills is ranked No. 30 in the state by MaxPreps.com, while Mission Hills is 48th.

River Contreras, Aaron Tasin and Sawyer Brant are the team’s other offensive weapons. … Coronado is led by QB Jack O’Sullivan, who has thrown for 294 yards in two games. Reese Pagon (4 catches, 104 yards) is his favorite receiver.

Preview: Olympian has outscored its first three opponents 129-24. Jayden Flores has thrown for 818 yards and eight touchdowns. Four players — Patricio Flatts, Jorgani Estrada, Mikey Talavera and Gio Ware — have more than 113 receiving yards. … Santana has outscored its opponents 72-14. Ethan Miller has thrown for 589 yards and seven TDs. Denton Gore and Kolten Thornton are the top receivers. Jordan Gillissie and Tatum Morehouse lead a stingy defense.

Preview: Mountain Empire hasn’t been 3-0 to start a season since opening the 2011 campaign 6-0. The Red Hawks are 10-32 over the last four seasons. … San Ysidro is led by quarterback Diego Garcia, who has 489 yards of total offense. Sean Blazen has 246 rushing yards, and Aaron Garcia has 10 receptions.

Preview: Mission Bay has outscored its first three opponents 119-38. Trey Arnold is the first quarterback in the county to throw for 1,000 yards this season, completing 64 of 93 for 1,003 yards and 14 TDs. The Bucs have five receivers with more than 121 yards, led by Jayden Marcelino (12 catches for 214 yards) and Kai Barrios (17 catches for 196 yards). Running back Shane Brushie has 272 yards and seven TDs. … University City has outscored its first three opponents 123-4. Quentyn DeMara has thrown for 659 yards and rushed for 272 yards. Preview: Poway dropped a hard-fought 45-28 decision last week to San Marcos. The Titans have two outstanding offensive players in quarterback Noah Schuback, who is a threat with his arm and legs, and running back Luke Jorgensen, who is a threat running and receiving. … Carlsbad has outscored its first three opponents 121-27. QB Eli MacNeal had thrown for 521 yards with seven touchdowns and no interceptions. Travis Jeffery has 11 catches for 241 yards with a 50-yard TD catch. Ethan Meyerhoff has 10 receptions for 203 yards and a 52-yard TD. Ian Wall has rushed for 224 yards with a 70-yard TD run. Darian Webb has 152 yards in 13 carries.

Preview: Mission Viejo is ranked No. 3 in the state by MaxPreps.com and No. 9 in the nation. The Diablos have outscored their opponents 118-31. Quarterback Luke Fahey is a three-star player who has committed to Ohio State. He has thrown for 877 yards with 10 TDs and no interceptions. The team’s best receivers are sophomores: Luke Karby, Jack Junker and KJ Woodbury. Defensive back Jeron Jones has committed to Washington, while defensive lineman JD Hill is headed to Northern Arizona. Mission Viejo is 40-8 over the last four seasons. … Lincoln is ranked No. 5 in the state and No. 50 in the nation. The Hornets have outscored their opponents 143-80. The Hornets are led by Jordan Roa, who has thrown for 432 yards and six TDs with no interceptions. Courtney Miller-Thompson has 20 catches for 255 yards, while Dareyen Brides has 11 catches for 155 yards. Rashad Robinson has rushed 48 times for 520 yards and seven scores. Junior Curtis has 30 carries for 283 yards. Offensive lineman Jesus Garcia has committed to UNLV, while defensive end Prince Tavion is committed to Oregon and cornerback Cammeron Purnell is headed to Oregon State.
