PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man has been arrested after another man was killed in a shooting last month in south Phoenix.
Phoenix Police said 33-year-old Luis Mollinedo has been arrested in connection with the Aug. 15 shooting death of 41-year-old Gabino Martinez Jr.
Martinez Jr. was found early that morning on the ground in front of a home near 15th and Southern avenues. He was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound at the scene.
Police initially detained multiple people at the scene, but after going through evidence and speaking to witnesses, they were released.
Mollinedo was later identified as a suspect, leading to his arrest. Phoenix PD did not provide details of the arrest. He faces a murder charge related to homicide.
