The WNBA regular season concludes on Thursday, Sept. 11, and one of the matchups on the last day sees the Golden State Valkyries visiting the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on NBA TV and FanDuel Sports Network Kansas City. Fans looking to watch this WNBA game can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial and up to $30 off your first month. SlingTV doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available.

The Lynx are locked into the top seed for the WNBA Playoffs, which start on Sunday, but the Valkyries have two different seeds they can land in. With a win, Golden sTate climbs above the Indiana Fever and takes the sixth spot for the postseason, which would mean a matchup with either the Las Vegas Aces or Atlanta Dream in the first round. With a loss, the Valkyries fall behind the Seattle Storm and into the eighth seed, which would mean at least two more meetings with the Lynx in the postseason.

Golden State is hoping Thursday can serve as one more chance for guard Veronica Burton to make a case for Most Improve Player, and maybe even an All-WNBA slot. In her fourth season in The W, Burton has lifted her scoring average almost 9 points, going from averaging 3.1 points in 31 games last season, to 12 points in 43 games in 2025. She also almost tripled her career-high in assists per game as well, posting 6.0 assists per game after averaging around two assists per game each of her first three years.

The Lynx also have a handful of players who are hoping for awards and recognition for their dominant regular season, starting with MVP candidate Napheesa Collier, and followed by Sixth Player of the Year hopefully Natisha Hiedeman, Defensive Player of the Year Candidate Alanna Smith, and the starting backcourt of Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride, who could find themselves on their first All-WNBA teams after each had another All-Star season for the team with the best record in the league.
