PHOENIX — A woman is seriously injured after a crash that shut down an intersection in Phoenix, according to the city’s police department.

Camelback Road at 17th Avenue will be closed for an extended period on Thursday night while detectives investigate the crash. 

The crash involved two vehicles and a woman in one of the vehicles was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. 

Officials expect to release more information on Friday morning.
