Several members of an alleged burglary ring were arrested in downtown Los Angeles, accused of thefts across multiple counties.
Investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department arrested at least three burglary suspects Thursday afternoon outside a luxury apartment complex.
Detectives, who have been working this case for some time, tell NBCLA they decided to move in on the alleged thieves when they saw them sitting in a car around 2 p.m. on Freemont Street.
The suspects attempted to drive away but crashed into a parked car. Two men and a woman were placed into custody.
The alleged crew members are linked to burglaries in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, according to authorities.
Sheriff’s deputies carried out a search warrant at the apartment building where one of the suspects lived. Neighbors tell NBCLA that the group would host loud parties, prompting visits from security more than once.
“We heard that they tracked down a criminal organization, and some of those people were living in our building. So I’m very happy to hear that they’ve been found out and taken care of,” said Christy Charboneau.
The identities of the suspects were not immediately available.
