A cozy, vintage-filled cafe that started in Flagstaff is opening a new Phoenix location. Cecily Maniaci opened The Toasted Owl Cafe in downtown Flagstaff back in 2013, decorating it with antique owl-themed decor, all of which is for sale.
Toasted Owl has since expanded to three locations: another in Flagstaff and one in the Newton Plaza in Phoenix, next to Changing Hands bookstore.
The newest Toasted Owl will open in the Paradise Valley mall redevelopment sometime this fall, according to Maniaci. It will take over the space formerly occupied by The Oink Cafe at the northwest corner of Cactus Road and Paradise Valley Parkway.
“I chose this location because that whole area is near and dear to my heart. I grew up in that area and raised my kids there as well,” Maniaci said.
The cafe serves breakfast burritos, pancakes and sandwiches, as well as its signature cinnamon rolls. It also has an entire vegan breakfast menu. The Paradise Valley location will offer some new menu items, like a sirloin steak combo with eggs, potatoes and a slice of apple pie.
