North County Transit District announced that Jeffery Wymer, who has served as the agency’s senior systems engineer and cybersecurity manager over the last three years, to director of information technology.

Wymer will be responsible for overseeing NCTD’s IT infrastructure and operations, according to an NCTD announcement.

“I’m incredibly excited to take on this role and continue accelerating NCTD’s journey forward through resilient and innovative technology,” Wymer said in a statement. “I am committed to empowering our team and delivering a seamless experience for every rider.”

According to an NCTD news release, Wymer previously spent 18 years working in technology for the San Bernardino County Superior Court. He earned his Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification in June 2024. In his time with NCTD, he helped with the agency’s procurement of dedicated cybersecurity insurance and assisted with a Federal Transit Administration Triennial Audit and Transportation Security Administration Cybersecurity Review.

“Jeff’s promotion to Director of IT is a reflection of his exceptional leadership, deep technical expertise and commitment to advancing our organization’s technology capabilities,” Tracey Foster, NCTD chief development officer, said in a statement. “Jeff inspires and supports his team and I’m confident he will continue to drive our IT strategy forward in his new role.”
