JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Randy Fine joined the 119th Congress in April and has quickly established himself as a fighter for his constituents.

“I think my colleagues are learning that I’m here to fight, and I fight hard for my constituents as, frankly, every Floridian, that’s what I’m here to do,” Fine said.

He described an unusual start in Congress.

“Usually you inherit some staff from your predecessor,” Fine said. “I didn’t get any of that. All of my predecessors’ staff had quit because they didn’t want to wait five months to find out who their new boss would be, and they’d closed all the district offices.”

In response, Fine reopened offices in every county, hired 15 staff, and closed over 500 constituent cases.

“I’ve made almost 250 votes in Congress. I haven’t missed a single one,” he said.

Fine had a message for everyone who didn’t vote for him.

“You made a mistake,” he said. “Hopefully, I’m going to show you why. And come next year when I run again, I’ll get their support.”

Fine also emphasized border security.

“We have fully funded the border wall. Every single mile. Never need another nickel. We increased resources for ICE to deport every illegal immigrant,” he said.

He added that Medicare and Medicaid funding is secured by cutting waste and fraud.

Fine said he is also trying to address redistricting.

“It’s a state decision. I filed a bill to fix Florida’s underrepresentation caused by counting illegal immigrants in the census. California and New York got congressmen they didn’t deserve; Florida did not,” Fine said.

Currently, Fine is focused on advancing President Donald Trump’s agenda and passing appropriations bills.

“I helped pass the Working Families tax cut by one vote. It passed because I was here. That’s my number one goal.”

He also supports renaming the Department of Defense to the Department of War to emphasize military strength.

“America needs to lead from the front. The world is safer when we’re on offense,” Fine said.

He also talked about National Guard deployment to reduce crime in big cities.

“I was with National Guardsmen from Louisiana…the communities affected by violence appreciate it. The only opposition comes from rich white liberals hiding in gated communities,” he said.
