PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo will host its first ever Día de los Muertos celebration for two days on Nov. 1 and 2.
The celebration festivities will include kid-friendly arts & crafts, an altar contest, cultural performances, live music, festive food and drink options and an art sale.
Performances will be held by Ballet Folklorico Amistad, Ollin Yoliztli Dance Academy and Ballet Folklorico del Valle Del Sol.
The event will be accessible for a general admission ticket, bringing a world of color, music, food and tradition to the Phoenix Zoo.
The art pieces for sale were donated by local art collector Joe Raymond.
Proceeds from the art sale will be directed toward advancing the stewardship and conservation of animals and their habitats.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the art sale, which will take place just outside the zoo entrance, runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
