During the Sept. 11 meeting, the San Antonio City Council approved an ordinance awarding E-Z Bel Construction LLC the contract for the Stone Oak-area Evans Road Corridor Project for the total amount of $1.447 million.

Long story short

According to city documents, the Evans Road Corridor Project will stretch from Peacemaker to Barbara Bush Middle School.

The project includes:

  • Two new traffic signals
  • Asphalt mill
  • Overlay work
  • Flatwork, such as sidewalks, curb ramps and driveway approaches
  • A signalized pedestrian crossing
  • Median modifications

Construction is estimated to begin this fall and be completed by summer 2027.

The background

The project is part of the $5 million District 9 Traffic and Mobility Improvements project and was approved by voters on May 7, 2022, according to city documents.

According to city documents, E-Z Bel Construction was one of three bids and was the lowest bid that also met minimum requirements. Funding for the project will be taken from the 2022 General Obligation Bond.
