GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — After a Saturday under 100 degrees, Sunday will bring slightly warmer temperatures.
If you are heading out tailgating Sunday morning, temperatures will be in the upper 70s to the lower 80s, warming up to the mid-90s before gametime.
While the average high this time of year is 102, we will see a high of 101 later Sunday afternoon.
We will see plenty of sunshine this Sunday, so don’t forget your sunscreen if you are heading out.
A ridge of high pressure will strengthen and temperatures will continue to warm up to around 104 by Tuesday.
Our monsoon action isn’t done yet. By the end of the work week, we will see that ridge of high pressure move east of our state, and that will pull in some moisture south of us.
That moisture will be fuel for thunderstorms, and we will see an increasing chance of storms starting on Friday.
With a chance of storms, we will also see cooler temperatures. Highs on Friday will be back in the upper 90s.
We only have two more weeks left of the monsoon season; hopefully, we can add to the rainfall totals to end it.
