The Emmy Awards honored the 40th anniversary of the launch of the iconic comedy series The Golden Girls on Sunday, with Reba McEntire and Little Big Town duo Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman performing the show’s theme song.
The song is “Thank You for Being a Friend,” originally written by Andrew Gold, which was performed by Cynthia Fee at the start of the classic sitcom, which ran for seven seasons, from 1985-1992, on NBC.
