A motorcyclist died Sunday night in a crash at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and San Mateo Avenue, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Police said that around 9 p.m., a teen driving a new Honda sedan on Atlantic Boulevard turned left to head south on San Mateo Avenue, crossing into the path of an oncoming motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the car, and the rider died at the scene, JSO said.

Police said the teen driver is cooperating. They did not say if he was injured.
