Human remains have been found underneath the carpets of a home that was abandoned after Hurricane Harvey.
The incident happened at a property in the 4700 block of Whispering Falls Drive near Bear Creek Pioneers Park.
The house had reportedly been condemned since Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and the family that had lived there sold it to a company.
When the company examined the home Monday, human bones were found underneath the carpet.
There was no smell to the remains, and investigators believe they had been there for years. It is unclear if foul play is being investigated.
The Harris County Precinct Five Constable’s Office is filing a report on the situation, and the medical examiner’s office will investigate the remains.
