PHOENIX — A man was killed in a single-car crash in Phoenix on Tuesday.

The crash happened near the intersection of First Avenue and McDowell Road around 1:40 a.m.

The driver was identified as 25-year-old Angel Banuelos.

When Phoenix Fire arrived on the scene, Banuelos was pronounced dead.

What is the investigation saying about the crash so far?

Preliminary information suggests Banuelos was travelling at a high rate of speed on McDowell Road when he lost control of the vehicle, hitting the curb and then a palm tree.

There is an ongoing investigation into the crash.
