PHOENIX — A man was seriously injured in a shooting in west Phoenix early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the area of 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road for reports of a shooting around 3:13 a.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The Phoenix Fire Department took the man to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said that officers had obtained information that indicated the shooting occurred at a nearby apartment complex. However, they were unable to locate the scene.

Detectives are investigating the shooting.

The man’s identity was not released.
