Friday was supposed to be all about the first WNBA meeting between Bueckers and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, but Clark was ruled out with an injury. Even without their star guard, the Fever were able to sneak past the Wings, winning 94-86.

Bueckers led the scoring for Dallas with 27 points while Arike Ogunbowale and Aziaha James scored in double figures as well. The Wings were without DiJonai Carrington for that game.

As for Washington, the Mystics have been a new team since Shakira Austin returned to the starting lineup, and the team has gone from being one of the teams projected to finish at the bottom of the standings to a fringe playoff contender, currently sitting in the No. 8 seed. Rookies Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron have played a key role in the team’s success.
