A new book titled ‘Writing for newspapers, radio and television’ was released by Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) Vice-Chancellor V. Uma, in the presence of registrar N. Rajani, at the campus here on Wednesday. Authored by B.N. Neelima, professor of Communication and Journalism at SPMVV, the book was supported and funded by Pradhan Mantri Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA).
“This reflects our university’s commitment to fostering professional skill development in media and communication studies,” said Ms. Uma.
The comprehensive volume provides readers with practical insights into writing techniques across various media platforms, covering topics from newspaper reporting, feature writing and editorial preparation to scripting for radio and television.
The book emphasises on clarity, accuracy, audience engagement and ethical journalism, besides introducing students and practitioners to multimedia storytelling, preparing them for the modern and fast-evolving media landscape.
Ms. Neelima, an accomplished author and avid birder, has previously published two books, while the latest one is designed to guide aspiring journalists and media professionals in mastering the art of writing for print, radio and TV.
The Vice-Chancellor hoped that the book would serve as a key reference for students, educators, and media professionals.
