The San Diego Fire Department responded to a structure fire at around 5 p.m. in the 4000 block of Altadena Ave. in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood on Saturday.
The heavy smoke and fire was reported in the back patios of two apartments in the structure, and was extinguished at around 5:20 p.m., according to SDFD.
One person, with unknown injuries, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, SDFD told NBC 7.
Red cross has been requested to help with residents displaced due to the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is now being investigated.
