A cult-favorite Texas taco chain is coming to the Fort Worth area: Fuego Tortilla Grill, a Texas fast-casual chain known for its roasted poblano queso and creative tacos, will open a location in Burleson at 955 N. Burleson Blvd., in a former Taco Cabana off I-35W and Alsbury Road.
According to a release, the restaurant will open on October 14, at 7 am.
They serve bold, authentic Mexican flavors with handmade tortillas, fresh ingredients, and generous portions, all cooked in-house. Every taco starts with a tortilla made from scratch in-house — ground, pressed, and cooked fresh — served with bold salsas and queso.
There are tacos with beef, seafood, and chicken such as the Magic Mushroom with char-flamed chicken, bacon, fried mushrooms, chipotle cream corn, jack cheese; or the Fist Pump with brisket, tater tots, roasted poblano queso, chipotle cream corn, and grilled onions. Prices start at $4.59 and top out at $6.59, except for breakfast tacos which are $2 to $3.
Menu newcomers include:
- the new Papa Chorizo breakfast taco with chorizo and potatoes
- smoked brisket nachos
- two new pork tacos, the 9 Juan Juan and Green Chile Carnitas
- tres leches churros
They also stay open 24/6: all day and night, every day but Monday.
Fuego Tortilla Grill was founded in College Station in 2010 and quickly became a staple for students at Texas A&M. They were acquired in 2024 by Uncommon Brands, a Dallas-based restaurant holding company which is helping oversee an expansion. This will be their fifth location in Texas, following College Station, San Marcos, San Antonio, and Waco.
On opening day, they’ll be giving out lots of freebies including free breakfast tacos from 7-9 am. The first 100 guests in line will get a limited-edition Fuego T-shirt, and the first 20 guests win one of Fuego’s most coveted prizes: free queso for a year.
“Burleson is the perfect place for Fuego’s next chapter,” says Uncommon Brands CEO Garrett Mills. “Since acquiring the brand last year, we’ve focused on honoring what people already love about Fuego while thoughtfully expanding into new communities. This city stands out for its strong sense of connection and energy, and we’re excited to be opening our doors here. Whether it’s lunch with family, late-night cravings with friends or a quick stop on the way to work, we want Fuego to feel like home.”
