For the first time in more than a decade, “Wheel of Fortune” is to hold in-person auditions in Philadelphia.
Auditions are to take place at the Event Center at Rivers Casino Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 18 and Friday, Sept. 19. They’re to open from 11 a.m. through 3 p.m. on both days.
Anyone 21 or older is eligible to audition.
What to expect at the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ audition
On the days of auditions, people are welcome to begin lining up at 10 a.m.
The Event Center at Rivers Casino Philadelphia is located at 1001 N. Delaware Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19125.
Parking at Rivers Casino Philadelphia is free. A free shuttle is to run throughout the day from the property’s main entrance and Riversuites at The Battery, Rivers Casino’s hotel nearby.
Upon entrance, participants are to be asked to check in with basic information about themselves. Five through 10 people at a time are to meet with a member of the casting team, where they’ll be given 30 seconds to present themselves.
To use those 30 seconds wisely, the “Wheel of Fortune” website recommends being “the high energy version of yourself.”
“We want to get to know YOU in these 30 seconds — jobs, passions, hobbies, and any fun, interesting facts,” the website reads. “Do not use your time telling us how much you love ‘Wheel of Fortune.’”
After everyone in the group has their 30 seconds, the process is over. Producers are to contact participants at a later date to go over next steps if they’re selected to move forward.
The entire audition process is free.
“The ‘Wheel of Fortune’ fan base in and around Philadelphia is incredible, and we’re excited to tap into that passion to find future contestants,” Executive Producer Bellamie Blackstone said in a statement to PhillyVoice. “We hope the fans bring some of that famous Philly spirit to the event so we can welcome those loyal ‘Wheel’ watchers in our studio to spin the wheel!”
What is Wheel of Fortune?
“Wheel of Fortune” is a puzzle-based television game show where contestants guess letters to reveal hidden phrases. Contestants have the opportunity to win money and prizes, as determined by a spin of a wheel for each of the correct letter guesses.
The show was long-time hosted by Pat Sajak and Vanna White, before Ryan Seacrest took over for Sajak in 2024. Seacrest and White are the two current hosts.
“Wheel of Fortune” airs on 6ABC from 7:30-8 p.m. every weeknight. For more information visit wheeloffortune.com.
