Jacksonville police are investigating a shooting of four people in a car at the I-10 East/I-95 North split on Sept. 18, 2025.

- The incident occurred at the I-10 East/I-95 North split following a verbal exchange between the occupants of the vehicles.
Gunfire erupted from one vehicle to another at the I-10 East/I-95 North split after words were exchange and three men and a woman were struck, killing one of the men. The woman’s child was uninjured, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators are still determining the circumstances and relationships of those involved so couldn’t say if it was road rage, but they advised “something occurred” with the occupants of a dark vehicle as they were traveling down Interstate 10 before the shooting.
The woman was able to call 9-1-1. Rescue personnel treated one man at the scene and transported the two others and the woman to a hospital where one of the men died. Detectives were still interviewing victims and seeking witnesses. No ages of the victims or further descriptions of the assailants were released.
