If you were planning to buy a physical copy of Taylor Swift’s upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which is set to be released on Friday, Oct. 3, we have some exciting news. Target will be opening select stores at midnight local time on the album’s release day, so you can get your hands on the highly anticipated 12-track album right as the clock strikes midnight.
The stores participating will offer the standard CD and vinyl edition of “The Life of a Showgirl” as well as three exclusive CD editions only available at Target and Target.com.
About 500 stores across the country will be participating, per Variety. Luckily, 13 of these stores (ahem… Swift’s favorite number!) are located in Upstate New York.

Target will sell 4 different CD editions of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
If you’re looking to pick up the “The Life of a Showgirl” CD during your late night/early morning Oct. 3 shopping trip, there will be four different editions available at Target — all of which can be pre-ordered now for an Oct. 3 delivery. Each version retails for $14.99 and features distinct album artwork along with an exclusive poster. Three of these editions are Target exclusives, meaning they are not sold anywhere else. There is a limit of four copies per customer.
“The Life of a Showgirl: Sweat and Vanilla Perfume” edition
The first CD version available is “The Life of a Showgirl: Sweat and Vanilla Perfume” edition. This is the standard edition that will be available at all stores on release day. The CD cover depicts Swift submerged underwater, with only her face visible, while adorned in a bejeweled, crystal-lined bikini. The album title “The Life of a Showgirl” appears in sparkly orange text. Inside, fans will find a double-sided folded poster showing pictures of Swift, as well as a collectible 8-page booklet featuring never-before-seen photos. Preorder it here.
“The Life of a Showgirl: It’s Frightening” edition
The second CD version is the “The Life of a Showgirl: It’s Frightening” edition, which is only available at Target. The CD cover shows Swift in a black bodysuit, appearing to hop over a row of seats in a theater with her hair slicked back. The album title is written in sparkly maroon text. It also includes a double-sided folded poster and a collectible 8-page booklet with never-before-seen photos. Preorder it here.

The third CD version is “The Life of a Showgirl: It’s Rapturous,” which is also exclusive to Target. The CD cover shows Swift leaning on a chair illuminated by green light while wearing a black wig with a feathered boa. “The Life of a Showgirl” is written in sparkly periwinkle text. The final CD version available is “The Life of a Showgirl: It’s Beautiful” edition, which again, is a Target exclusive. Swift is seen wearing a bejeweled bodysuit complemented by a matching headpiece on this CD cover. She is photographed sitting down and has one finger in her mouth. Looking for the vinyl version? Target will also be selling “The Life of a Showgirl” vinyl, which only comes in the “Sweat and Vanilla Perfume” edition. This vinyl is not exclusive to Target and is priced at $34.99. It features the same artwork as the CD edition of the same name, and comes with a translucent orange vinyl with gold glitter.
