HOUSTON, Texas – The pastor of a Houston-area church has been arrested after being caught with child pornography, according to deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
On Friday, the HCSO announced the arrest of 50-year-old Nathan Walker. Investigators said he has been charged with two felony counts of possession of child pornography.
According to court documents, in July, a member of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received two cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, leading them to a Yahoo instant messaging app associated with Walker, who used the usernames “roughneckforchrist” and “subsea@yahoo.com.”
When investigators searched Walker’s computer, they said they found multiple pictures and videos of children between the ages of five and seven years old performing child pornography.
Further investigation led to an interview with Walker’s son, who told investigators he “knew this was going to happen,” because several years ago, he found similar images of children on his father’s laptop. He also said he saw his dad having an inappropriate conversation on a Discord app, and when he asked him about it, his father said he was “doing it to catch the bad guys.”
The son said he did not report the incident or discuss it with anyone.
Investigators said Walker was the youth pastor at the Crossbridge Christian Church, located off Highway 290 in northwest Harris County. A Google search shows Walker listed as an associated pastor of the church, but the church has since scrubbed Walker from its website.
