There’s a lot to see and do when traveling abroad, but some people, like Bostonian traveler @rebecca.23.7, can’t help but gravitate toward animals no matter where they go. Plenty of people can relate!
While visiting Peru’s Sacred Valley on September 16, Rebecca noticed the priceless moment when an adorable alpaca ‘realized he is made into souvenirs.’ Uh oh! The alpaca went from unfazed to concerned in a matter of moments, and if you look closely, you can see the exact millisecond when realization sets in.
LOL! This fluffy alpaca is probably next in line to be sheared for his fleece, and he knows it. Luckily, it’s only his fleece that they’re after, or he’d be in real trouble!
“He’s like, ‘Am I bugging or are there some really tiny alpacas right there?'” commenter @itz_madame_boujee wrote. It’s alpaca-ception! Not only are they made from fleece just like his (and maybe even from his own body), but they even look like miniature versions of him and his pals.

No wonder the funny alpaca was so confused! Even though @kateishly offered another cute story: “He’s the shop owner. He’s proud of his wares,” there’s no mistaking the confusion and worry that sinks in as he stares at the tiny souvenirs.
Alpacas v. Llamas
While both alpacas and llamas are Peruvian animals, there are some major differences between these related species. Llamas are larger with longer snouts and more muscle, which makes them helpful as both pack animals and guards for their smaller animal friends.
Alpacas are smaller with much finer wool than their llama cousins. They can be born in a variety of colors and coat patterns, and they’re typically more social and affectionate toward humans.
Both of these unique animals are domesticated and valued in South America, though you’ll find them on farms in the United States, too. There’s so much to love about these adorable creatures!
