A British mattress company has made Dallas part of a U.S. expansion — and it’s not just any bed business.

Vispring, a manufacturer of handcrafted mattresses, opened a showroom in the dynamic Dallas Design Center this month, according to a statement. The company’s history reaches back to the year 1901, and its products are used in luxury spots such as the Beverly Hills Hotel in California and London’s The Dorchester. The North Texas spot is one of about a half-dozen stand-alone stores opening this year, the only spot in the Lone Star State.

The addition to the Dallas-Fort Worth area follows a growing list of luxury brands that are opening their own stores for local shoppers. European fashion companies such as Prada, along with high-end names in other areas, are investing in the region.

“The American market has shown tremendous appreciation for Vispring’s commitment to craftsmanship and natural materials,” Martin Gill, managing director at Vispring, said in an emailed statement. “Opening our doors in Dallas represents a significant milestone in Vispring’s expansion across the United States. The Design Centre’s reputation for excellence and sophistication aligns perfectly with our commitment to handcrafting the world’s finest mattresses and sleep systems.”

Some mattresses are available for under $4,000 — yet other versions can run into the tens of thousands of dollars. The “Diamond Majesty” can soar above $100,000.

“Master artisans” craft each mattress, using natural materials, including British wool, Shetland wool, cashmere, silk and horsehair. A highlight of the new showroom is the exclusive display of the new Diamond Majesty Topper, which features nine layers of natural fibers.

The new site is at 1025 N. Stemmons Freeway, Suite 610. The company, which also launched a new stand-alone store in New York, also has locations in California and has plans for three more sites this year, including the Denver, Washington, D.C., and San Diego areas.

The push comes despite the recent changes in global trading fees.

“We do not view the recently introduced tariffs as a major concern for luxury goods,” Gill said. “Discerning customers continue to seek out quality, handmade products, and Vispring mattresses — crafted with care in our UK workshops — stand apart.”
