Another 90-degree day inches Jacksonville closer to a record-breaking year

  • September 21, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a below-average, cooler start to September, the past week of 90-degree highs put Jacksonville back in the running for the most days in a year at or above 90 degrees.

The record of 114 days was set in 2011, surpassing the previous record of 111 days set in 1990. So far in 2025, Jacksonville International Airport has recorded 109 days at or above 90. Saturday was day 109.

Sunday is forecast to reach 90 yet again. Additionally, the first week of fall will have summerlike temperatures in the upper 80s, low 90s.

In addition to 90-degree weather and feels like temperatures in the mid-90s, Sunday will remain mostly dry with increasing northeast winds and gusty conditions, especially along the coast, where the rip current risk is in the high zone.

Coastal showers are possible in St. Johns and Flagler counties, but the chances are low before trying to push inland.

Sunday Futurecast

Rain chances increase throughout the first week of fall.
