San Antonio-based drive-thru institution Taco Cabana held its first World Taco Eating Championship Saturday in the Alamo City.
The competition unfolded at the Taco Cabana at 1253 Austin Highway and attracted some of the world’s top competitive eaters, including Miki Sudo, Geoffrey Esper and James Webb, all vying to set new records by scarfing down bean and cheese tacos.
During the contest, Sudo and Webb made it into the Guiness Book of World Records by eating eight tacos each in one minute.
Esper won the overall competition by consuming 51 bean and cheese tacos.
