This weekend on In Focus, we’re taking a closer look at youth and community development.

JoDee Kenney spoke with Buffalo Common Council President Pro Temp Bryan Bollman. He is a proponent of the Buffalo Division for youth, which partners with the county, state, law enforcement, schools and faith-based organizations to try to prevent at-risk behaviors in youth.

JoDee sits down with state Sen. April Baskin, who talks remediating lead pipes from homes, unshackling youth detainees in family court and more.

JoDee also sits down with Nekia Kemp, executive director of the Buffalo Police Athletic League (PAL). Its mission is to provide youth sports and enrichment programing in partnership with law enforcement. These include out of school time programs, community centers and sports in parks.
