Persons of interest has been taken into custody for a Williamsburg shooting that left two men injured on Sunday morning, police say.
Both victims are expected to be OK, according to authorities.
It happened just before 5 a.m. near 43 Montrose Ave. Video from the scene shows an ambulance pulling up and officers with victims. One man was on the ground while the other was standing and waiting for EMS.
Officials say a 28-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Woodhull Hospital. A 26-year-old man was grazed by a bullet and brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Both men are stable.
Investigators say they’re looking for someone who drove off in an SUV after the shooting.
Yehia Sulaiman, who works at a nearby mini mart, said he was shocked to hear about gunfire in the area.
“From what I know, this is a quiet neighborhood. We’ve been here about three months and it’s nice and quiet,” Sulaiman said. “Yeah, really am [surprised]—especially at 5 a.m.”
