Seattle enters Sunday night with a three-game winning streak and is 12-1 over its last 13 games, having opened a two-game lead in the AL West race. Cal Raleigh broke the Mariners’ franchise single-season home-run record with his 57th of the season in Seattle’s 6-4 win at Houston on Saturday night, also extending his major-league record for home runs in a season by a switch-hitter. Right-hander Logan Gilbert looks for his second straight winning start.
Houston’s loss on Saturday gave the Mariners the tiebreaker in the AL West, as Seattle is now 7-5 in the season series with one game remaining. The loss also dropped the Astros out of a wild-card spot as they lost the tiebreaker to the surging Cleveland Guardians, who are also 84-71 on the season. Veteran right-hander Jason Alexander is 4-1 with a 2.76 ERA in 12 starts since being claimed on waivers in May.
This is a great MLB baseball matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
