SAN ANTONIO — The discovery deadline in the cases of Brad Simpson and Cotter is set for Monday. By this date, all substantive evidence must be submitted to the court. Prosecutors are expected to provide a detailed account of any outstanding evidence.

During Cotter’s court appearance last week, it was revealed that some evidence from the FBI and the Crime Lab may still be pending.

Prosecutors assured the judge they would present a detailed list of the evidence on Monday, which is expected to shed light on what investigators have gathered.

With 99% of the evidence anticipated to be turned over by the deadline, the cases may be moving closer to trial.

Attorneys not tied to the case say Simpson could potentially get a trial date in the near future.
